I know we have plenty of roguelike fans here. You might enjoy Slay the Spire, a roguelike deckbuilder my brother showed me yesterday. It's in Steam Early Access for like $13 right now. Instead of customizing a character with stat increases, you customize your deck around certain combos. It's really fun and definitely something I can see myself playing nonstop for the next month or so.

Yeah I have 23 hours into it so far; it is a lot of fun and I would definitely recommend it.

Slap down $15 for Into the Breach at GOG.com and you'll also receive a free copy of Faster than Light.

I bought this on my first viewing of the Steam page based on how much I love FTL. Worth it. So, so good. I have yet to win; I've died in the [redacted for spoilers] a couple of times, though.

Just picked up Ylands and it's got me hooked. It's kind of like Don't Starve crossed with Minecraft. I love the atmosphere and the mechanics and it's got a great exploration vibe to it.

Still playing Ylands. I have to say that building a ship, getting it provisioned, then sailing the ocean blue is one of the most satisfying gaming experiences I've had in a while.

I'm not exactly playing it, but there's this really interesting game out there which I've watched some YouTube game play videos for. It's called "One Hour One Life" and it's such a novel concept. You're basically dropped in randomly as a helpless baby to a mother who is also another player. You age a year per minute, and when you die, you get reborn in some other random part of the world. Sometimes your mom is just a lone wanderer, sometimes she's part of a group which may or may not have its shit together. Your mom sometimes will take care of you, other times you're SoL and she ignores you or takes off. There are various crafting technologies you can take advantage of in the game, but it really takes a community to do much beyond subsistence living.

It's incredibly entertaining to watch people playing this, but the pace is so frantic and the inventory management looks so utterly frustrating to me that I can't picture myself playing it.

Playing around with OOTP 19. Early verdict is that this is the ugliest interface that they have put together in a while. The 3D stuff seems flaky enough that I probably won't use it.
