I dont know if the Yankees are this good or the Jays are this bad, ut at least we dont have to wait until the bullpen to give away the game.

    Jays starters line: 0.2 innings, 6 R, 0 K. Awesome.

It's weird. Any other season, we'd be talking about how good the Yankees are. They're on pace for over 100 wins, after all, and have a good shot at setting the single season record for homeruns. But because the Red Sox are having this once in a generation season, the Yankees seem disappointing.

But yes, the Yankees are this good. At least on their day.
    Things can always be worse.

On Saturday night I saw an in-person first for me: a balk-off. An extra-inning balk-off, at that.

Bases loaded, bottom of the 10th. Apparently his knee buckled slightly, or maybe he dropped his hands a split second before stepping off the rubber? Absolute horseshit. Way to end a thrilling four-hour game on a pedantic technicality.

Well, I got my satisfaction on Sunday watching the Dodgers light up Seattle for 12 runs behind a wholly unnecessary but still thoroughly satisfying Kershaw gem. The third time I've seen him live and he as always did not disappoint. I even got to see a position player pitch the ninth for the Mariners, another first for me, and give up a three-run BOMB.

We were joined by some friends of ours and their very geeky baseball nut teenaged son who kept a scorecard the entire game and then filled out the game stats on the drive home while we quizzed him. A future OOTPer for sure and someone any micromanagement intense text baseball simmer would want as their own son.
Being smart, don't always make you popular.

The Pirates held the Cubs to one run in each game of a four game series...that the teams ended up splitting.

The Pirates have now given up exactly one run in each of their last five games...and lost three of them.

You had to run up against Bryse Wilson. Just unlucky there. Can't expect to score against him.
