    Talk MLB

    Where were we? Oh, yes.

RHP Edwin Jackson has been signed by the Nationals.

People are crazy for not wanting Edwin Jackson. His reputation is very outdated, and a lot of pitchers are going to make a lot more money to pitch a lot worse than him. I wish Ned hadn't been so gung ho early on or we'd have had a shot to bring him back at a bargain.

That Nationals rotation is really, really good.
I understand that and fully understand that and I think we had a previous President who did not understand that but I understand that and we have spoken about this before.

Please note this post was made by the 2012 NFL Losers Pool Champion.

So it looks like this isn't some kind of elaborate hoax.

    - Yeah, you know, a white guy ... mustache ... about six-foot-three.
    - Awfully big mustache.

If teams needed 9-man rotations, it would be the best in baseball! At first, I was like, WTF?!? about this but actually I think it's a good move. They were serious about Fielder and had budget room, and at this point signing Jackson and trading one of their other starting pitchers (like Lannan) to fill one of their gaping holes is probably the best way to make use of that. Plus, it's a one year contract so if they aren't in contention around the deadline and Jackson's having a good year they'll be able to get something for him too. According to the only projection I've seen, assuming two wild cards the Nats had a 29% chance of making the playoffs before the deal. If that's at all close to being right, that's territory where marginal improvements to the team can turn out to be hugely important.

I'm not a big fan of Rizzo but along with not biting on Fielder it looks like he's made a couple of very decisions in the last couple of weeks.

Well, what did you feel about his decision to the entire Coca-Cola bottle. Is that bad?!?!

I wonder who else could have predicted something so crazy!
Blog is back. Get it while it still exists!

Latest post from 11/13/18: 9 Amazing Facts About Lions that Will Shock - I'll admit, I kind of phoned this one. But the lion facts are 100% real and the Lion King images are 100% without permission.

On the plus side, the Marlins will be playing in the best stadium in MLB for taking peyote!

Probably the first Zambrano blow-up that many fans will hope to occur.
