    Miscellaneous books thread

Holy sweet Jesus, this may be the greatest book ever:

    http://www.themillions.com/2012/02/the-arcades-project-martin-amis-guide-to-classic-video-games.html

At the very least, there is this exchange with a man who simply must have been a young Christopher Hitchens:

I was with a friend, a hard-drinking journalist, who had drunk roughly three times as much Calvados as I had drunk the night before. And I had drunk a lot of Calvados the night before. I called for coffee, croissants, juice; with a frown the barman also obeyed my friend’s croaked request for a glass of Calvados.

Then we heard, from nowhere, a deep, guttural, Dalek-like voice which seemed to say: “Heed! Gorgar! Heed! Gorgar … speaks!

“… Now what the hell was that?” asked my friend.

“I think it was one of the machines,” I said, rising in wonder.

“I’ve had it,” said my friend with finality. “I can’t cope with this,” he explained as he stumbled from the bar.

Do we? I'm not reading this book because I just heard about it and it's apparently nigh impossible to find.

I've decided to make this a thread for this, this being the discussion of... miscellaneous... books... that you're not reading!

Anyway, Phil Jackson has a new book.

How many have you read? I know my 16 won't hold up, but I bet someone here might crack 45.

The list itself is somewhat questionable, especially toward the bottom, but given the difficulty level it's a solid effort.

    18. Seeing the title of it, surprised it was that high. Also, several of them I read when I was much younger and barely remember now.
Blog is back. Get it while it still exists!

Latest post from 11/13/18: 9 Amazing Facts About Lions that Will Shock - I'll admit, I kind of phoned this one. But the lion facts are 100% real and the Lion King images are 100% without permission.
