Pittsburgh and Kansas are swapping players responsible for two of the finest one month debuts in TCBA history. 24 year old C Gus Dickerson was called up last year by the Pacifics and proceeded to hit .528/.554/.833 (344 OPS+) in 108 at bats for a total of 3.4 WAR. That would total 23 WAR over 162 games. 22 year old SS Chet Knox made his debut for the Vulcans and murdered the ball to the tune of .444./.487/.606 (250 OPS+) and 2.5 WAR in just 99 at bats. That would be 18.4 WAR stretched out to 162 games.

If the OSA ratings can be trusted, Knox looks like the real deal and should have a fine career for K-Pax. Dickerson's OSA ratings are not at all impressive and, if spot on, will make his rookie heroics one of the great flukes the game has seen. But, both of these players were secondary components in this deal. K-Pax was in the hunt for a quality corner OF and may have their man in Oddibe Bernard, a first name very familiar to Rangers fans, while hurler Jimmy Gage looks like a keeper with a bright future.

Those are showing up on the reports for some reason, but neither of those guys have ever played in the majors.

This trade probably spells the end for Edd Roush after 10 years as our starting right fielder. Roush combined a solid bat with 7 Defenseman of the Year awards, but in recent years he hasn't been able to stay off the DL. As a contact hitter who can't reach the fences, the game also seems to have passed him by even though he's only 30 years old. His contract has $38.5k team option for next season, which would have seemed like a sure thing a couple of years ago but is very unlikely at this point.

That is weird - it doesn't show any seasons but it shows them as career totals.

P Ewell Russell can be had from Pittsburgh. He's been a very pleasant surprise as he was originally an OF and even won the Rookie of the Year Award as an OF. Now he's a starting pitcher on track to win 21 games with us, but he's good veteran pitcher on a bad team. Might as well get something for him for the future.

    Pittsburgh sends SP Ewell Russell
    Kansas sends 5th round pick

Pls put Russell in the #2 slot in the rotation with a pitch count of 40.
