Carter actually got hurt in our game, and he's a big time loss. He's probably the best center in the conference. They do have talent available though. Howard is having a very nice freshman year with 12 a game, and Shay is probably the best shooter in the conference. Mazzola is a really nice player that I wish I had, he's averaging 4 and 4 off the bench as a 3-and-D wing.

We played these guys really close earlier this season, but we've been playing horribly lately and haven't been competitive in most of our last 8 or so games, so I'm not optimistic. Nicholls has lost 3 of 4, so maybe they suck too.

Tong can play and might see a few minutes, but he will not start. Baker and Downey will be the posts.

    Thank goodness for McNeese State.

    1977-1978 Game 22 Results

We've fouled them 5 times in 45 seconds. Avery has two already and the game is scoreless.

I also forgot to take Tong out of the lineup. He played 3 minutes. Baker is in now. We're down 0-2.

We're up 7-2 at one point, but a 7-0 run for Nicholls State finds us down 7-9 with 11:21 left. Baker has 4 points and Levesque has a three pointer.

Media time out with 6:31 left and we trail 9-20. Even though Nicholls has 7 turnovers, we aren't hitting any shots and it is looking like another spanking on deck.

We cut it to 9 at one point, before falling apart the last 3 minutes. Score at half time: Nicholls State 35 - Centenary 18. Avery and Weeden both have 3 fouls. Wine shot once in the 1st half.

With 11:46 left, we trail 33-55. Downey has 10 points. They are killing us on the offensive glass, though. Downey has some major flaws despite his ability to score the ball.

Last media time out is with 2:30 left and we're down 48-67. Baker is in double figures with 11, but it's been a massacre for a while now.

No scrubs come in except for Varnado accidentally. Final score: Nicholls State 67 - Centenary 48.

We got killed inside on the glass without Tong playing his normal minutes. Weeden was 3-15 from the field, while Wine played 36 minutes and shot it 4 times. Baker had his best offensive game of the season.
