creed is addressing the fact that the components don't correlate with the result...
    Code:
    Batting Average .307 - 2nd in East
    On-Base Percentage .360 - 4th in East
    Slugging Percentage .422 - 3rd in East
    On-Base + Slugging .782 - 2nd in East
    Runs Scored 414 - 8th in East
Montreal is 1st in the TCBA in stolen bases (201) at a cost of 222 caught stealings.

    Yep.

Goddamn, how did a guy with a 6.41 ERA make the All-Star team? And how is he sitting on 4.0 WAR on the season already, what the hell?

This is the 3rd consecutive year Gaylen Ballenger has sported a 6+ ERA. IIRC, pitching WAR is tied into FIP and the metric seems to draw the conclusion that Brooklyn's defense is a horror and his ERA doesn't reflect Ballenger's true ability. Athough, I must say that 139 runs surrendered in 178 innings is pretty bleeping ghastly. Ballenger's BABIP this year and the last has been .372 and .371 respectively. Yikes!

NO that I just expected. Bob Ansley is a backup. Jimmy Zinn is 40k shit, it's only natural that another one of my first rounders be destroyed.

Eh this team has never had lots of runs. Then again we also had pitching too so....:shurgs: I've pretty much given up understanding OOTP18's way of handling things.

Ya funny thing that, it doesn't matter. I tried that last year where the stolen bases were turned completely down to nohitng. It didn't make a difference in record. Its just hte way it goes.

So.....yep. What can ya do but laugh?

I mean, you did steal 173 bases and get caught 204 times last year, not exactly nothing.

Yeah, I don't think it's really that OOTP is working in mysterious ways so much as there's a really obvious answer for why you're getting on base all the time and not scoring any runs.
I understand that and fully understand that and I think we had a previous President who did not understand that but I understand that and we have spoken about this before.

Please note this post was made by the 2012 NFL Losers Pool Champion.

I've tried without success to promote Stats+ in the past. I thought I would show a new feature. Extremely detailed development reports are now available. If you've ever wondered if your player is gaining or losing weight, for example. :-) You have the option of using OSA or your Scout for the changes.

I actually tried having all SB activity turned down to nothing last year until the trade deadline, when I turned it back because we were in 8th place and a 1-6 pick in current drafts nets you a Butch Henline. It really didn't make much of a difference in the end, still had a roughly .380-.440 clip, and IMO we had better pitching last year.

But I also don't have any proof to back it up, so there's that. Maybe I just suck at this game anymore. Who knows

If you're running in to outs on the basepaths constantly you're going to score fewer runs than you would otherwise. It's not even a difficult concept.

NOt what I was getting at, but I can't seem to explain what I'm trying to say and I don't really want to argue so sure.
