If your mystery club is the most prestigious in Europe, then why did your players ask to leave for a bigger one in the first place?

    Because it's a bug.

I always took "bigger" to mean "richer" in that context; where do you rank on that scale?

Only 15th on that scale, but that doesn't really have anything to do with developing young players. That's the problem. I was regularly starting teenagers and still won almost every trophy available -- what more could they possibly want in terms of that?

Got the itch to manage Messi, so I started up a new save as skipper of Barcelona. We played Sevilla in the season opener, a first leg tie in the SuperCopa de Espana, on their home pitch. We might just win this thing in the return engagement at Camp Nou. Currently, I'm switching between three saves, this 'un, another with West Bromwich Albion, and back again with the Level 22 challenge at Sunday League pub club, Keymer & Hassocks. They've all been great fun, as expected. As always with FM.

Maybe it has to do with them expecting a massive payday at some point? I've had the same issue at Everton after winning the Champions League.

I've also had lots of players demanding to leave because they want more money. They usually say that specifically though.

Me too, but they've been long-established stars then. David Ward was a game-gen in my epic QPR save that around age 26-27 wanted a massive payday and went to Spurs and got it. His play suffered through 2 seasons there, and I bought him for a fraction of what I sold him for. He promptly (mostly) regained his form.

Yeah I love it when players demand to leave for the big money and then end up riding the bench at PSG or whatever.

Like Ross Barkley did in my Everton save.

Oh, wait, that was real life.
