50 Books For 2014: List Thread

We had three make 50 last year (again) while another two cracked 40. We had three reach 30, one reach 20, and two reach 10 books. This might not be accurate though with some lists not recently updated.

So, let's do this all over again. My goal this year is to be a little better with my pacing.

    Could I get this stickied?

I understand that and fully understand that and I think we had a previous President who did not understand that but I understand that and we have spoken about this before.

Please note this post was made by the 2012 NFL Losers Pool Champion.

I am going to participate under protest, since the goal should really be a number of pages rather than a number of books. First of all, for most popular non-fiction books, it's completey unnecessary to read the whole thing. You can usually completely get what they have to say by reading a just a few chapters, and you will get much more out of reading half of two of these books than all of one of them. Second of all, counting books encourages you to finish a book that you've started but don't like. This is almost always a bad move- your time would be better spent putting that book down and picking up something that you expect to like better. Third of all, and most obviously, counting books discourages you from reading longer books, which is dumb.

So, I'll be counting pages. My goal is 2,500.

    1. Shake Hands With Devil - Romeo Dallaire (100 pages in 2014). 5/5
