It's definitely a good idea to put the Bader/Davis fight on free TV. Their first fight was a stinker, so there's a chance that one might go the same route. I would have stuck that Larkin/Lima fight as the co-main.

Sad shit with Tim Hague. From what I've read he should never have been licensed to fight so soon after his most recent knockout. The commissions need to protect fighters from themselves, bravery and lack of self-preservation are two sides of the same coin.

There was a guy on some season of TUF (I've only watched highlight clips of the show, so I couldn't tell you when at all) that Dana White said was the hardest-hitting knockout artist he'd ever seen. Has he killed anyone yet? I'm surprised the few I saw survived.

That's the ubiquitous Uriah Hall. The spinning hook kick KO of Adam Cella from TUF at the 30 second mark is the more devastating finish.

Hall has been a mixed bag in the UFC, with a 5-6 record in the promotion and nothing approaching that level of KO in the UFC (although the Mousasi one was an amazing piece of skill). He probably would have already been cut (and still may, with 3 straight L's) if he wasn't able to pull off clean, video-game level kickboxing techniques. I hope MMA fans get the Anderson Silva/Uriah Hall fight that was once scheduled and rumored forever. That will be like Tekken.

Yeah, I saw that this weekend. Hague was a tough dude. Unfortunately, those are the guys that usually get seriously hurt.

Dear Lord, yeah. Somehow didn't realize it was the same guy.

Yeah, Hall is a pretty awesome kicker - most notably for his ability to pull off his techniques in remarkably close quarters - but he doesn't have a great fight IQ necessarily and he's not really shown any improvement since his days as a heralded young fighter. He'll probably have a longer career than he would without the highlight reel finishes though.

The thing about brain damage though is that it's all about quantity not quality. Eating hundreds and hundreds of jabs over a boxing career is worse than a few clean MMA knockouts (with the caveat that it'll take about 30 years to really confirm that for certain since MMA is pretty new). Also, fighting with an existing brain injury increases the risk exponentially, more often than not the guys who die are ones who should never have been cleared by a doctor.

That is bizarre to the point where it forces me to wonder if I'm the one that's bizarre. These people realize it's a boxing match, right?
