There doesn't appear to be much drama for the two Zaki MVP Awards this year, but the Fletch Pitcher Awards look to be relatively wide open.

In the RiPL, the leading contenders for the award appear to be, in no specific order, SP Quentin Sanz & SP Ed Hoffman from Houston and SP Gerardo Capilla from Philly, while the Pride's SP Al Valdivia, SP Tony Farmer of Minneapolis and Providence's SP Jose Martinez may also be darkhorseTM candidates.

Here are where each rank in the RiPL in several key pitching categories:

    - Sanz: #1 in wins, #2 in ERA, #3 in WAR, #6 in K/BB, #9 in HR/9, #10 in WHIP, #5 in FIP

    - Hoffman: #3T in wins, #4 in ERA, #1 in WAR, #7 in K/BB, #2 in HR/9, #7 in WHIP, #1 in FIP

    - Capilla: #2 in wins, #1 in ERA, #4 in WAR, #15 in K/BB, #5 in HR/9, #4 in WHIP, #8 in FIP

    - Valdivia: #3T in wins, #18 in ERA, # in WAR, #1 in K/BB, #22 in HR/9, #9 in WHIP, #12 in FIP

    - Farmer: #5T in wins, #13 in ERA, #2 in WAR, #13 in K/BB, #4 in HR/9, #11 in WHIP, #2 in FIP

    - Martinez: #5T in wins, #3 in ERA, #8 in WAR, #16 in K/BB, #8 in HR/9, #6 in WHIP, #6 in FIP

On the surface, the FL Fletch looks like a no-brainer, with SP Enrique Cuadra of Atlanta achieving a 9.8 WAR - there's not been another 9-WAR season in over a decade. There also have been only 8 pitchers who eclipsed Cuadra's 2028 total of 285 IP. Several pitchers, like teammate SP Travis Seipp, San Antonio's SP Mel Garza and Colorado's SP Mahsun Temiz had stellar seasons and should merit at least some consideration for the award.

Based on those infos, Hoffman would get my vote. Anyone who doesn't cast a first place ballot for Cuadra should lose their voting privileges.
